Our passion for regenerative materials has led us to create a network of partners that use regenerative practices. With those partners we are working together toward a climate positive supply chain.
Regenerative Wool
We source our wool from local farms in Maryland and Pennsylvania who practice regenerative agriculture. We work with small fiber mills to process this wool into felt and other batting materials. By purchasing and processing directly from these farms and mills we are supporting our regional fiber supply chain.
Wool that would typically be discarded due to traditional industry standard becomes our cushion materials, replacing standard foams while removing waste wool.
Fallen Lumber
Our wood comes from fallen lumber within Baltimore city limits that would otherwise go to landfill or be chipped, preventing the need to source wood from forests. By using this wood, we are reducing the demand for newly harvested wood and helping to preserve our natural forests for future generations.
Our lumber partner in Baltimore has created a new category of sustainable wood that goes beyond conventional timber harvest and certification. Carbon Smart Wood™ diverts waste, creates jobs, and plants new trees. Trees that would typically be headed to landfill are salvaged, sequestering carbon into beautiful lumber.
Regionally Sourced Hemp
Hemp as been used in furniture for thousands of years but is often forgotten by today's furniture manufacturers. It has the ability to sequester carbon and heal soil with its production. We are working with east coast mills and rope makers to facilitate both the growing and production of hemp in our region.
Other Materials
Our furniture is bio-based and can return safely back to soil at the end of life. To do this we partner with visionary material companies to provide the innovation, comfort, and options that are demanded by our customers.
